Love the place, people ,food and great friendly service
I like this place, but this review is about the Elephant Cafe which I visited yesterday with my wife. Unfortunately, the staff did not live up to the name in that they forgot to place our food order. If you read the website, it states that food is cooked to order, so allow 20-30 minutes. After 30+ minutes we asked what had happened, only to find that the order 'had not gone through'. Translating, that means the kitchen staff didn't get theorder. So, another 20 minutes elapsed before the food arrived. Wife's burger was fine, my pancakes were the wrong order. OK, the drinks (about 4:50) were free, and apologies were profuse but, with a boss who was more intent in being seen rather than seeing what was going on, the service was severely lacking.I vote with my feet, we will think hard before going back! A shame.
Enjoyed coffee with chocolate caramel shortcake & brownie here with our daughter & 2 year old grandson. Coffee & cakes were very good and the staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming.
A beautiful and perfectly located cafe in the middle of the countryside. The food was delicious, we had Full English, a veggie breakfast and one nameless person had the burger and chips meal. The children's portions were good and suitable for older children (we shared one kids meal between three young kids and topped them up with a bit from our plates) all in all a fantastic little restaurant!
Very tasty food but a bit pricey, 7 for a sandwich.Plenty of choice from the menu and of the fresh cakes.Lots of tables and the service is good Food is all prepared fresh so a wait is likely especially during busy periods.Staff were friendly and helpful.Highly recommended.Will go back.
